Description

My friend group and I are often featured on our school's pages for our unique and diverse mix - a blonde Lithuanian; a curly-haired Surinamese; and me, a brown-haired French girl. This ballpoint pen drawing celebrates that diversity through unity.

Using thousands of individual dots, I built each portrait in a different color to show our individuality, yet kept the same stippling style to connect us as one. The slow, repetitive process of dotting is a reminder of the patience and effort that real friendships require.

Beyond representing us, this piece speaks to how difference can exist harmoniously, forming something stronger together. As someone who actively stands against racism, I wanted this work to be a small, colorful statement, celebrating differences that make us stronger rather than dividing us.
