Clara's Vases

These vases are a portrait of my identity told through symbols instead of faces. Inspired by blue-and-white porcelain vases, I mixed historical traditional vases with personal storytelling.

Each element represents a piece of me: ice skates, a book, a boba cup, a Hong Kong junk boat, small fragments of various homes I've had and my experience moving from country to country. Together they form a visual diary of where I come from and who I'm becoming.

Creating these pieces reminded me that identity is a sum greater than its parts, compiled from a collection of everyday moments, and as such, it's ever-evolving.
