Drowning in Fast Fashion
This installation explores how fast fashion has become overwhelming for both the environment and individuality.
Photographs show me in different outfits, arranged by hand into a large mural-like wall.
The process of printing, cutting, and assembling every image was deliberately repetitive, as were the images, echoing the endless cycle of production behind the industry itself. From afar, the grid looks almost patterned or decorative, but up close it starts to feel unsettling, showing the unease one is supposed to feel towards this endless cycle and excess of fast fashion.
As someone who loves fashion and often creates my own clothing, this project is a commentary on how easily individuality can disappear within mass trends and intends to bring awareness to overconsumption.
